Roots Custom

Roots is led by Craig Margolies, a passionate industry veteran who has learned his craft from New York City’s premier wood shops and has applied those skills to a wide spectrum esteemed projects.

Beginning in 2001, Craig learned the craft and attentive service of the elite wood flooring business from Janos P Spitzer of New York City.  The refined skillset and unique “old world” approach evolved and led him to develop projects for the 3rd generation wood flooring “institution” of Haywood Berk.  The sincere passion, technical industry knowledge, and design acumen was then focused on Roots Wood Products, and its shares in The Hudson Company.  As a partner in Hudson Company, Craig and Roots created a robust product line and capabilities, as well as developing the brand, point of view, and numerous high profile projects and partnerships.

Roots is now pursuing a path that incorporates the entirety of Craig’s history, with an emphasis on dynamic product design, project execution and a devotion to custom work that is attentive to each specific client’s needs.

Roots has also formed an international partnership with Mill Road, a valued friend, in order to better serve the diverse clientele.
